Find the Flow in the Master Plan

See the natural flow of life this May.

Flow into May with Mass Appeal Magazine. There’s so much to be said about the concept of flow. It can be physical and mental. It can apply to home or career. The concept can also come with ease or difficulty. As it’s spring, we find ‘flow’ to be the perfect theme for this month. Springtime is a transitional time after all. We are even nearly halfway through the year. Our writers are up to the task.

Wading Through the Rough Waters at Home

To begin, Jamie Masters shares their story. Masters suffered unimaginable loss with nowhere to turn. Then came a harrowing skin condition caused by the grief. But this is not where Masters’s story ends. In ‘Arrested Development,’ Jamie Masters overcomes the deep pain. It never truly leaves. But Masters found a way to harness it into something helpful. Then came the lasting joy. Life’s flow often doesn’t make sense, but it happens, nonetheless.

Then comes Vivek Attri’s experience in ‘A Thin Line.’ Attri felt stuck in all directions. However, one day after a particularly difficult meeting at work, a riverside walk changed everything. Watching the water flow effortlessly, navigating around rocks and bends, made Attri realize that water never stops. It finds a way around obstacles, not by force, but by flowing.  Learn how Attri put this natural occurrence into practice.

Find even more inspiration in ‘I Can.’ Jill Maxick tells Heather C. Markham’s story. In her thirties, Markham learned she had a progressive disease. It was soon going to take away her ability to walk and do most things without assistance. She first responded with fear, despair, and anger. But Markham quickly chose to live her life to the fullest. She decided that nearly anything is possible with the right team, tools, and perseverance. Markham worked with the flow of life as we all can.

Work Flow

Careers need the ‘flow’ treatment too. Therefore, Sara Madera’s tale is very welcome. Madera details the challenges of combining work and motherhood. She wanted both, yet she was exhausted. So, she reevaluated and found her sweet spot. Madera became what she needed years previously. She became a career coach for mothers. Read more of her story to get inspired.

Lastly, Jim Christy delves into his career trajectory. He found a way to combine his entrepreneurial spirit and love of sports. In ‘Art of the Game,’ Christy details his trading card experience and how that brought him his own company. Now, he shares his passion with so many. Hit that career home run by reading more this May.
