Find Control in Your Master Plan

Control can be positive. And so can relinquishing control. Explore these concepts with Mass Appeal Magazine this February. Winter is a time for renewal and reflection after all. Building a master plan incorporates reworking, revising, and researching. The personal stories from our contributors will help readers write their plans for success in work and life.
Control in Career
The topic of control begins here. Dilruba Erkan felt unfulfilled and overworked as illustrated in ‘A Thin Line’. So, they delegated tasks, prioritized health, and used the Pomodoro Technique. Exercise improved clarity, and mindfulness reduced stress. These changes brought balance and renewed career passion. Erkan found the control.
The work stories continue in ‘Art of the Game.’ Andy LaCavita moved from IT consulting to career coaching. LaCavita founded Milewalk® and his persistence built the company’s credibility. LaCavita ushered in professional control by taking skills from one role to another. Read more to gain insight on his master plan this February.
Relinquish the Idea of A Perfect Master Plan
Inspiration is found in February’s ‘I Can.’ A Vietnam LRRP leader, Jim Stevens suffered a head injury, leading to blindness after a stroke. He faced personal struggles but found renewal through martial arts, becoming a champion. Relearning art, he gained international acclaim and awards. Now, he leads the Veterans Arts Council, supporting veteran artists. His motto: “A man with a vision is never truly blind.” Control in lack of it.
Personal Growth
Another illustration of exploring control is in ‘Arrested Development.’ At 19, with no experience, Jenny Chang pursued entrepreneurship. Overcoming fear and self-sabotage, she built up self-awareness and resilience. Turning past pain into motivation, Chang shaped her future. Now, they inspire millions to embrace their power. Lastly, we focus on what can be controlled and adapting to what cannot with Danielle Payton. In her career, she helps others recognize their potential and take charge of their destinies. In her family, she emphasizes self-control, open communication, and fun, fostering a strong and cohesive unit. For her health, she balances physical, mental, and emotional well-being by running regularly and prioritizing time with loved ones. In her relationship with her partner, she believes maintaining romance and connection is crucial. By balancing control with flexibility, she strives for a fulfilling, fun, and purposeful life. It’s all laid out in Payton’s ‘Blueprint’ this February.
