Dress Code: Network With Style

By Laurel

Networking properly can be summed up into 5 key ingredients: what you wear, what your goals are, if you ‘own’ space, how ‘real’ you engage, and if you are in the right place. Wearing your “Sundays Best” means something different for all of us, let your confidence and comfort speak through your wardrobe. Don’t wear new shoes or something that makes you feel restricted, but don’t come in your unicorn onesie either (unless it’s that type of event)

Setting goals to just “connect” is not okay, set specific goals for meeting a certain number of people, speaking to specific companies, or connecting with like-minded people for small projects. You will be able to measure the success of that event and gain connections as well as confidence for future events. Not having a great day? Don’t sweat it. Put your best face and attitude forward to make the best of that time.
